While her big brother and sister treated my mom to an early birthday present by taking her to the play Mary Poppins, Nora and I got to spend a special day together doing Nora things. We went out to lunch, went to the library, sat in the sun by the river, shopped side by side at the co-op (for our upcoming vacation to the North Shore), and most importantly, throughout our day we collected leaves for our "project" this afternoon. Still one of my favorite ways to make art with fall leaves. As we were sitting there ironing and "ironing" together I suddenly remembered this from seven years ago. Life is so good.
